ABOUT

ME

Writer with 18 Years of Experience

I am an associate editor at Rhode Island Monthly magazine, where I manage and write our front-of-the-book section called Current, and I write and edit our City and Regional Magazine Association Gold Award-winning monthly local food newsletter, The Dish. I produce all of our food and restaurant features and handle social media for various accounts.
My interest in journalism began in high school when I worked for the high school section of our local newspaper, The Eagle Tribune. I graduated from the S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications at Syracuse University in 2004 with a major in magazine journalism and a minor in Spanish.  As a college student, I served as assistant features editor at Syracuse's Daily Orange.
My first job was as an assistant online editor at Men's Health magazine, for which I wrote nutrition and weight loss columns for newsletters. I was even featured in the book The Abs Diet for Women!
Then I moved over to Boston magazine, where I started out as an assistant online editor and progressed to become online editor. I managed all email newsletters, and I wrote for Chowder, the dining blog, and Bostonista, the fashion blog. I have contributed to The Boston Globe Magazine, Boston magazine, Boston Weddings magazine, Food Network magazine, Boston.com, Thrillist and About.com, and I also worked for AAA Southern New England's publications department, for which I wrote a monthly restaurant column and travel, sports, and entertainment content. I am available for freelance assignments for national publications.
